Accessible Museum Online

The Odesa National Fine Arts Museum, with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, as part of the "Accessible Museum Online" project, created a virtual 3D tour of exhibitions with sign language translation. It consists of a three-dimensional scan of the contemporary expositions "Before the War" and the series "Languages of War", accompanied by 22 videos in sign language, which tell about individual series of works and their authors. In this way, the exhibition halls on both floors of the museum become accessible to various people who are interested in culture and art.

In addition to the virtual tour, as part of the project, the museum published a sign language translation of 7 interviews with artists from the "First Person View" series. A new series of 5 video lectures about female artists, whose works are presented in the ONFAM collection, will also be released soon. The department of professional sign language interpreters of the Public Broadcaster was involved in the creation of the sign language video. The author of the video projects is art critic and cultural manager Alya Segal.

The "Accessible Museum Online" project is a logical continuation of the "Accessible Museum by Hearing and Touch" program, which the ONFAM implemented in 2021, also with the support of the UCF.
